

The NASCAR Cup finale at Phoenix Raceway concluded with a wild overtime restart. Denny Hamlin, who had dominated the event, fell back after a four-tire call on the final pit stop.
Kyle Larson, opting for two tires, secured his second NASCAR Cup title with a third-place finish, despite not leading a lap and having an average car.
Larson expressed disbelief at his win, crediting his team's leadership and a final caution that allowed him to make a crucial move. Hamlin finished sixth, becoming the championship runner-up, while Chase Briscoe and William Byron finished third and fourth in the standings, respectively.
Ryan Blaney won the race, passing Brad Keselowski in the final corner. Hamlin led early, but Byron won Stage 1, with Blaney second and Hamlin third. In Stage 2, Hamlin regained the lead after a caution and pulled away from Larson, who couldn't keep pace. A caution occurred early in the stage when Shane van Gisbergen spun, and Briscoe suffered a flat right rear tire.
Hamlin maintained the lead, while Briscoe rejoined the field at the back. Kyle Busch and AJ Allmendinger also experienced tire issues, with Allmendinger hitting the wall. Hamlin won Stage 2 under caution, followed by Blaney and Byron, with Briscoe in seventh. In Stage 3, Hamlin and Larson had slow pit stops due to tire and wheel issues, respectively.
Byron took the lead, but chaos ensued as Larson and Briscoe both cut tires and fell a lap down. Elliott won the race off pit road after many lead drivers pitted.
Byron later snatched the lead from his teammate, and Hamlin passed Elliott before a caution for Austin Cindric's crash.

Another caution for JJ Yeley's flat tire led Larson and Briscoe to opt for two-tire calls, putting them out front for the restart.
The Championship 4 drivers were running 1-2-3-4, and Hamlin passed Briscoe and Larson for the lead. Byron then passed them all, but Hamlin regained the lead.
Another caution for Byron hitting the wall with a cut tire led Hamlin to pit for fresh tires, dropping him to tenth. Blaney won the race, and Larson secured the title.
