Scott McLaughlin of Team Penske finished 12th in IndyCar's two-day pre-season test at Phoenix.
McLaughlin improved his lap time from Wednesday to Thursday, stating he felt comfortable and competitive despite windy and cold conditions.
Alexander Rossi of Ed Carpenter Racing was the quickest across both sessions on Thursday, setting a benchmark of 20.6254s.
Josef Newgarden, Alex Palou, Christian Rasmussen, and David Malukas rounded out the top five on combined times.
Newgarden expressed fond memories of Phoenix and confidence in his team for the upcoming doubleheader.
Most drivers improved their benchmark times from Wednesday, with Will Power completing the most laps. Marcus Ericsson ended his day with a spin into the wall.
