Johor Motorsports Racing Lands New Sponsor For The Suzuka 1000...
Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with
leading model manufacturer, Trends Hobby, for this weekend’s Suzuka 1000 GT3
endurance race. JMR has had an outstanding 2026, having achieved class honors at the
Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa and successfully completing the challenging 24 Hours of
Le Mans.
Following this success, the Hong Kong-based Trends Hobby will partner with
JMR for the Suzuka 1000 and will soon create a replica collectible model of the team’s
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. JMR’s president and principal driver, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman
Sultan Ibrahim (HH Prince Jefri Ibrahim), is enthusiastic about teaming up with Trends Hobby for Suzuka and having the team’s race car immortalized as a high-quality collectible model. “As someone who has always been passionate about cars and motorsport, there’s something special about seeing the cars we race recreated as die-cast models,” he says. “It’s a true honor for the JMR Corvette Z06 GT3.R to be the first Corvette from Trends Hobby’s upcoming 1:64 range.”
“This car, and our program with Corvette, mean a lot to us; I’m personally very
excited to see it represented this way. Hopefully, this marks the beginning of a great
partnership with Trends Hobby, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the model.”
Trends Hobby states that JMR’s ongoing success over 2025 and 2026 brought the two
parties together.
“As the only Corvette team in Asia, JMR has demonstrated its strength. The team secured
third place at the Suzuka 1000 last year and won the class title at the Spa 24 Hours this
year on the Intercontinental GT Challenge circuit. These impressive results led to the collaboration between Trends Hobby and JMR. “We look forward to transforming the all-new Corvette Z06 GT3.R into a collectible model, giving motorsport fans worldwide a closer look at the thrill of racing and helping to spread racing culture far and wide.”
JMR achieved both Pro and Pro-Am podiums during their debut at the 2025
Suzuka 1000 and is aiming for the top spot on the podium this weekend.
The Pro team of Scott McLaughlin, Nicky Catsburg, and Alex Sims returns for another
attempt at victory in JMR’s #2 car, while HH Prince Jefri Ibrahim, HH Prince Abu Bakar
Ibrahim, and Ben Green will drive the #99 car in pursuit of Pro-Am success
