Fight Verdict Dished Out By NASCAR...
NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell confirmed that Carson Hocevar and Ryan Blaney will face no penalties for their physical altercation following the race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The fight, which occurred on pit road after an on-track incident resulted in significant damage to Blaney’s car, is being viewed by officials as a display of driver passion. While NASCAR does not encourage fighting, they support drivers handling their own business outside of the vehicle.
Hocevar acknowledged Blaney's frustration regarding the impact the crash had on his championship standings. Although the drivers were not sanctioned, NASCAR is currently reviewing the involvement of crew members and may issue penalties for them later in the week.
