Hadjar Secures Red Bull Future as Lawson Returns to Racing Bulls...
Isack Hadjar has been confirmed to remain alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull for the 2027 Formula 1 season, signing a contract extension after an impressive 2026 campaign.
The 21-year-old has produced seven consecutive top-six finishes and a podium in Monaco, earning praise from team principal Laurent Mekies for his adaptation, composure, and contribution to car development. Hadjar is also set to make his return at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after missing three races with a wrist fracture. Simulator testing has cleared him to compete, although he expects some residual discomfort.
During Hadjar's absence, Liam Lawson stepped into the Red Bull seat for three races, scoring 14 points and providing valuable feedback by comparing the Red Bull and Racing Bulls machinery. Hadjar acknowledged Lawson's strong performances and the useful information he provided to the team.
With Hadjar returning, Lawson will move back to Racing Bulls. His own 2027 future remains officially undecided, although he says he has made significant progress with consistency during 2026 and is focused on helping Racing Bulls secure fifth in the constructors' championship. The announcement also removes one major piece of uncertainty from the 2027 driver market, with Red Bull now locking in Verstappen and Hadjar while attention turns to the remaining Racing Bulls seats.
