Engel Wins, In An Incredible Fight-Back!

Maro Engel, driving for Team GMR, won his first Bathurst 12 Hour in his tenth attempt, completing a remarkable comeback. The #888 Team GMR Mercedes-AMG, shared by Engel, Mikael Grenier, and Maxime Martin, started in 29th place due to qualifying issues.

The decisive moment occurred after a Safety Car period when Maxime Martin took the lead after two other cars made contact.

Martin then maintained the lead to secure the victory. Engel expressed his happiness, stating that the win was as special as he had dreamt it would be.

High Class Racing, a Bronze squad, finished in second place, marking the first time a Bronze entry reached the podium.
