Max Verstappen was disqualified from his Nurburgring NLS2 win for exceeding the maximum tire allocation.

Verstappen, Jules Gounon, and Daniel Juncadella in the #3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing car initially won the four-hour race by 59.5 seconds after taking pole position.

However, they were stripped of the victory two hours later because the team used seven sets of tires, exceeding the allowed six. This handed the win to the #99 Rowe Racing BMW M4 of Jordan Pepper and Dan Harper.

Christian Hohenadel, Winward Racing team principal, and Stefan Wendl, head of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, both acknowledged the team's mistake and expressed disappointment, vowing to analyze the error and prepare for future races. Tim Heinemann and Sven Muller inherited second place, and Dylan Pereira, Tobias Muller, and Patrick Assenheimer were promoted to third.
