Courtney Signs With Team 18

A deal was announced for Courtney to join Team 18, reuniting him with former bosses Charlie Schwerkolt and Adrian Burgess.

Schwerkolt stated that securing Courtney's signature was difficult but shows the team's intent to win races and represent Chevrolet.

Courtney was highly sought after and committed to Team 18, partly due to their growth and role as the homologation team for General Motors.

Courtney expressed that it is fitting to finish his career as an endurance driver for a GM factory team, similar to how he started. He also mentioned that the eagerness shown by Charlie and the team made him feel wanted.

Courtney, who had previously considered complete retirement, found it impossible to stop driving due to his love for the sport.

He emphasized that reuniting with Burgess and Schwerkolt, with whom he shared past successes and friendships, was a significant appeal of joining Team 18.
