Only four Formula 1 teams, including Mercedes, Alpine, Red Bull, and Racing Bulls, have yet to confirm their driver lineups for the 2026 season.
Isack Hadjar is favored to replace Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull, while Arvid Lindblad may join Racing Bulls alongside Liam Lawson.
Alpine's situation is less clear, as Pierre Gasly is signed until 2028, but Franco Colapinto's future is uncertain due to not scoring points in 2025 despite a promising stint with Williams last year.
One perspective suggests Alpine should give Colapinto another year, citing his past potential and the team's current car issues, while another argues that Alpine should consider Yuki Tsunoda if he becomes available, highlighting his speed, experience, and potential positive relationship with Gasly.
Leonardo Fornaroli is also suggested as a contender for Alpine, due to his consistency and professionalism in F2.
Fornaroli should be considered for F1 due to his talent, dispelling doubts about his ability to win races.
Alpine needs a consistent driver for points finishes, a role Fornaroli's potential could fill, unlike the inconsistent Colapinto.
While Alpine might favor internal promotions, external talents deserve a chance. Colapinto's performance is hindered by a messy environment within Alpine, marked by management changes and instability.
Alpine needs stability, which includes consistent driver pairings for Gasly. Colapinto's development requires patience and support, and a fair assessment should wait until he adapts to new regulations.
Browning, despite Williams' signings, presents a viable option for Alpine, given his consistent performance in F2 and positive attributes. His experience and record suggest he has the potential for F1 success.
