Will Davison vowed to "dust myself off and come back swinging" after Dick Johnson Racing decided to replace him for 2026 with 18-year-old Rylan Gray.
Davison, despite being under contract for 2026, chose to split with DJR entirely rather than be demoted to a co-drive. He is understood to have contacted the Blanchard Racing Team, expressing a desire to continue as a full-time Supercars driver, as one seat remains unaccounted for on next year's grid.
Davison spent the weekend competing in the Noosa Triathlon, where he declared his intention to remain positive and "come back swinging." Brodie Kostecki, Davison's teammate, expressed excitement about working with Gray and wished Davison well for his future. Davison will complete the 2025 season with DJR, with the Sandown 500 marking his 600th career Supercars Championship race start.
