Jamie Whincup, a seven-time Supercars champion, is one of six new inductees into the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame for 2026. Whincup became eligible after stepping down from active competition at the end of 2025. He holds records for most Supercars championships and most race victories.
His career began in 2003, and he signed with Triple Eight in 2006, where he achieved his first race victory.
The Brabham BT19, driven by Sir Jack Brabham to the 1966 Formula 1 World Championship, will also be inducted, marking the first time a car has been included.
Other inductees for 2026 include Garry Connelly AM, Santo Rapisarda, Shane Watts, and Ken Blake. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 5, at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
