Shane van Gisbergen spun during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway after hitting a wet patch on the apron while entering the pit lane.

Van Gisbergen's #88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet Camaro spun, nudging Christopher Bell and William Byron's cars before stopping in the grass. The spin caused a popped right rear tire, leaving him stranded.

Jeff Burton explained that van Gisbergen lost control due to the tyres having less grip compared to road course tyres, causing him to lock the rear brakes.

Van Gisbergen received the Lucky Dog at the end of Stage 2, returning to the lead lap and restarting in 16th position, after running as high as second earlier in the race.
