Dakar Rally champion Toby Price and his co-driver Holly Kilbride crashed at the Adelaide Hills Rally, his first start in the EROAD Australian Rally Championship Production Cup.
Price misjudged a right-hander, ploughed through a fence, and flipped the borrowed Mitsubishi several times.
Price escaped with scratches, while Kilbride was hospitalized with minor neck injuries. Price expressed remorse for the mistake and felt bad for damaging the car he borrowed.
Kilbride was taken to Adelaide Hospital for an MRI after reporting neck pain. Hayden Paddon won Heat 1, while Harry Bates retired after a crash.
