The FIA has announced a new constructor, Project Rally One, is developing a car for the World Rally Championship's 2027 technical regulations.
Founded by Lionel Hansen, Yves Matton, and Prospeed, Project Rally One is the first tuner-led project under the WRC's new framework, aiming to design, build, and homologate a WRC27-specification car.
These new regulations, spanning 10 years, are designed to be more affordable and flexible, with a €345,000 cost cap and approximately 300 horsepower, to attract new manufacturers and teams.
Significant progress has been made, with the chassis design and build completed and prototype assembly underway.
The car will undergo extensive testing before homologation, with the first shakedown scheduled for spring 2026. This entry is seen as a crucial step, demonstrating that the new regulations are fostering an environment where independent projects can compete with manufacturers.
