After lending his Racing Bulls car to Nikola Tsolov for FP1, Liam Lawson returned to a challenging track, where he collided with Max Verstappen. The Dutchman criticized Lawson, reminding him that he's "fighting for his seat."

Lawson observed Tsolov's debut, in which the Bulgarian drove Lawson’s car to P12, despite experiencing cockpit discomfort due to his height. Tsolov managed to complete the session successfully, earning praise from Team Principal Alan Permane.

Lawson's FP2 was eventful, as he collided with Verstappen at Turn 14. Verstappen criticized Lawson's judgment, while Permane noted that both drivers could have handled the situation better. The stewards investigated the incident, but no ruling was made.

Despite this setback, Lawson improved his position from P16 to P8 with a best lap of 1:18.910s. He finished FP2 in P9, just 0.066s behind Arvid Lindblad, setting the stage for a competitive Qualifying session. The grid will have one final practice hour at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez before Qualifying.
