Supercars driver Will Brown has criticized a recent stewards hearing at the Gold Coast 500, describing it as an unusual and abrupt experience.

Brown and Triple Eight team manager Mark Dutton were summoned regarding an alleged impeding incident during qualifying, which resulted in a two-place grid penalty for the champion driver. Brown stated that he and his team were effectively silenced during the proceedings, with a steward instructing them to leave before Dutton could fully present their case.

While Motorsport Australia maintains that due process was followed and the team was given an opportunity to speak, Triple Eight formally raised concerns about the handling of the hearing with Supercars officials. No further incidents of this nature were reported throughout the remainder of the race weekend.
