An incident at Mount Panorama ended the Bathurst 12 Hour practice early when Graeme Dowsett's Team NZ Aston Martin Vantage hit a wall after contact with Alfred Renauer's Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911. The Porsche swiped the Aston Martin, sending it into a slide and then into the wall, which caused a red flag with five minutes remaining in the session.
Earlier, Renauer’s co-driver Ralf Bohn spun, and the #42 Method Motorsport McLaren 570S experienced overheating issues. Kenny Habul in his #75 Mercedes-AMG topped the session with a lap time of 2:04.9062s, which he achieved with new tires and low fuel.
