BP Grand Final Returns With Big Prize Money And Extra On Track Action!

Event organizers have announced the return of the 100km Friday race prize through a partnership with Mega Rewards. Introduced in 2025 to motivate those not competing for the championship, last year's $50,000 prize was won by Brodie Kostecki in a rain-affected race. Adelaide Grand Final event director Shaun Bennetts praised the return, promising high stakes and strong commitment from drivers and teams. The $50,000 prize is the only direct cash prize of the season, with other cash prizes available for pole positions and the Pirtek Pit Stop Challenge. Supercars’ executive chairman Barclay Nettlefold commended the initiative, highlighting the increased competition and excitement it brings. The November 26-29 Adelaide event will feature a 100km Friday race and traditional 250km races on Saturday and Sunday.

GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS participants have the opportunity for paid practice on Wednesday, prior to the official event start. While Wednesday track activities at Adelaide are common, they were previously reserved for road cars. The participants will have two hours of track time with an open pit lane, using a temporary pit lane next to the support paddock on Wakefield Road, as Supercars occupy the main pit lane.

SRO Motorsports Australia head Ben McMellan stated that this extra practice session allows for additional track time amidst schedule constraints with Supercars and other events. The Adelaide Grand Final is the only GT World Challenge Australia event not part of the Shannons SpeedSeries, with its final SpeedSeries appearance at Sydney Motorsport Park. Despite challenges, the chance to compete at the Adelaide Grand Final was well-received. McMellan highlighted that Adelaide is a major motorsport event, offering an incredible opportunity to race in front of fans, and is a favorite among drivers.
