Kimi Antonelli secured his eighth victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season at the Spanish Grand Prix, further extending his championship lead. Although Antonelli took the lead on lap 48, he acknowledged that Lando Norris, who finished third, appeared to be the strongest driver for much of the event.
Norris lost his advantage after a poorly timed pit stop during a Virtual Safety Car period triggered by Lance Stroll. Max Verstappen finished in second place, holding off the late-charging McLaren. Lawson eventually finished sixth, while Piastri ended up in eighth behind Colapinto after late-race pit stops and traffic.
